NGC1514

NGC 1514 is an interesting mag 9.3 planetary nebula in Taurus that reminded me of a 'Dianthus flower' when I observed it! Discovered by William Herschel on November 13th, 1790, describing it "A most singular phoenomenoa" and forcing him to rethink his ideas on the construction of the heavens. I made this observation with the 350mm Newtonian and Watec 120N video camera on December 22nd 2008
